What Causes Throat Infection

Tonsillitis / sinus infection: (Please help … I am miserable.?

have a stuffy nose and flowing about a week ago I Sneezing was pretty so I took some Zyrtec for what I thought was just an ordinary case of allergies. However, four days ago my throat was very swollen and very painful when I swallow. But it is only the left side of the throat is bad. Nothing painful right but their over-inflated. What causes tonsillitis, sinus infection? My throat is very red and swollen, but no white spots, red sores only: (I just open your mouth!
